A few organizations who have given me the privilege of helping them with their goals
To care, I believe that is the hallmark of a good UX designer.
How that is applied:
_
FLEXIBILITY
Not all customers nor systems are the same.
Each environment is different, so each experience should be uniquely optimized and tailored.
_
DESIGN ONCE, USE OFTEN
From early in my career, my focus has been centered around repurposeability of both functionality and design. This serves many purposes, including an increase in user adoption and decreased cost for future development cycles. In 1 word, this translates to: Scalability
_
OPEN DIALOG AND COLLABORATION
Pairing kindness with radical honesty. Cutting through barriers, quickly moving conversations from speculation to action. I work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, marketing, IT Support, Sales, Data Scientists, and more.
I aim to ensure that all perspectives and areas of relevant expertise are considered to ensure the final product meets both user needs and business objectives.
_
CONSISTENCY
When design patterns are consistent, user adoption rises, design and engineering costs decrease, and reliability builds brand trust and loyalty.
_
ETHICAL DESIGN
Consideration for potential impact on users and society is important to me. I work to avoid and remove manipulative design practices (dark patterns) and to prioritize user privacy and security.
I don’t like most popups.
_
INCLUSIVE DESIGN
Why leave potential users behind?
It is important to me to ensure that people of all ages and dispositions have access to tools which can help improve their lives inside and outside of work. I bring this mindset into products ensuring ADA and WCAG compliance for the products I am involved in.
_
DATA DRIVEN
A great deal can be learned from looking into analytics and call center data. I have aided the implementation of multiple tracking systems into products and have taught groups how to read the output along with the cleansing of the output.
This is often overlooked in the design process leaving behind an incredible wealth of knowledge-gain.
_
ERROR AND SECURITY
You may notice the lack of case studies.
You may also notice in the examples that I have obscured the view of details.
Your project is your proprietary information.
That is not an error. That is, “By Design”.
Relating to errors: People are error-prone, and I design for that and work with engineering to ensure we build for that.
