The top 8 reasons organizations might hire a seasoned UX / CX Architect...
1.
When there are high drop-off rates during the onboarding process for new and returning customers and a large percentage of support calls are related to product onboarding.
2.
When you are looking to scale or even expand into new markets while establishing and maintaining a strong brand.
3.
When your product is needing to adhere to ADA / Accessibility standards.
4.
When your support requests continue to rise.
5.
When your products and websites are enhancing GDPR / CCPA compliance.
6.
When customers cite confusion or negative feedback about locating what they are looking for, yet the functionality seems quite obvious to you and your software developers.
7.
When functionality is inconsistent from one section to the other and inconsistencies continue to flourish as more features are added.
8.
When existing design team members are struggling to integrate into the agile framework.
A few organizations who have allowed for me to be part of their world of projects
My core principles
Not all customers nor systems are the same.
Each environment is different, so each experience should be uniquely optimized and tailored.
From early in my career, my focus has been centered around repurposability of functionality and design.
This serves many purposes, including an increase in user adoption and decreased cost for future development cycles.
This translates to 1 word: Scalability
Pairing kindness with radical honesty: Cutting through barriers which quickly moves conversations from speculation to action.
I work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers and other stakeholders.
Collaborative efforts ensure that all perspectives are considered and that the final product meets both user needs and business goals.
When design patterns are consistent, users adoption rises, design and engineering costs decrease, and reliability builds brand trust.
Consideration for potential impact on users and society is important to me.
I work to avoid and remove manipulative design practices (dark patterns) and to prioritize user privacy and security.
Why leave potential users behind?
It is important to me to ensure that people of all ages and dispositions have access to tools which can help improve their lives inside and outside of work. I bring this mindset into products ensuring ADA and WCAG compliance are being considered and put into practice.
For some reason, my mind links this with human rights and the standards set in place by CCPA, GDPR and others. There is something about those standards which fold into “Inclusive Design”.
A great deal can be learned from looking into analytic and call center data. This is often overlooked in the design process leaving behind an incredible wealth of knowledge which decreases the cost of usability testing and post-production mishaps.

At a recent talk in Raleigh, NC on AI and Art
It was an incredible experience to talk about the current state of Art and AI at a talk held by these incredible organizers.
Panel mates:
Matto Shinkai and Téa Blumer, moderated by Julianne Miao.
The event was filled with so many interesting and kind people from all walks of life as well as art and poetry for sale.
If you ever get a chance to attend one of their events, I highly recommend it.
