What differentiates a true User Experience designer from other kinds of incredibly talented designers is often in the practice.
For instance, somebody close in my life keeps requesting for me to let him color calibrate my monitors.
I kindly decline and here is why:
Because the average user plugs in their screen, they may be comfortable enough to change the settings between “Game” or “Cinema” and to change the brightness, but that is about it.
I choose for my screens to not look the same and not be calibrated – so that I can design as closely as possible to their reality – for the benefit of the end-user.
